Funds raised pay for our free events throughout the year and help the museum acquire and archive artifacts. Guests enjoy locally prepared hor d’oeuvres, desserts, and beverages against a backdrop of live music and a display of vintage valentines. Prizes are awarded for best Valentine-themed attire! Tickets go on sale in January on the website, at the Taylor Chamber of Commerce, and are available from all board members

pounds of plenty/Gov. moody’s birthday

At this annual June event, the Moody Museum collects non-perishable food items and monetary donations to stock the shelves at Shepherd’s Heart Food Pantry in Taylor. Local businesses serve as drop-off points in May, and the event culminates on the Moody lawn with a contest and prizes for most donations collected. Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without cake! Refreshments are served to honor the anniversary of Governor Moody’s birthday throughout the event.
